Historical earthquakes in the Northern Territory

I have attempted to fill gaps in the catalogued records of Northern Territory earthquakes during the historical period from 1869, mainly by examining newspapers now available on-line. The earthquakes are very clustered in time, in some years such as 1899 and 1903, as many as five events were felt in Darwin, the longest gap followed the great M8.3 earthquake in 1938 and lasted until 1950…
